Meet Winny Tapajós

Winny is an Amazonian artist passionate about representing the elements of her land, the Amazon region. For this collaboration with Natura, she delicately portrays the proactive strength of women and the regenerative power of Tukumã, illustrating the life cycle of this potent natural ingredient in the product's packaging.

The Bioactive

Tukumã is a fruit of the Amazon native palm tree known for its ability to sprout and grow back even after fires, bringing to life and renewing degraded areas of the Amazon Forest. The raw butter and raw oil extracted from Tukumã fruit act together and in a complementary way on the skin – the oil protects the skin's natural hyaluronic acid while the butter stimulates the skin's natural hyaluronic acid production. Stimulating and increasing the skin’s hyaluronic acid is important because over time it decreases as the skin matures resulting in dehydration and a rough skin texture.

EKOS TUKUMÃ BODY LOTION

Hyaluronic acid, which is naturally present in the skin, is an essential element for hydrated and plumped skin. Its high capacity to absorb water helps to give volume and density to the skin, giving it a healthy, plump appearance.

THE WOMEN OF THE AMAZON

In the Amazon, we have 7 communities, 289 families who work with the Tukumã fruit to harvest. The women are the most active. Through Tukumã, the women in the community are empowered. They are involved both in the harvesting as well as the administration of cooperatives, thus helping to make this plant, until recently overlooked, a potential lever for socio-economic transformation.
