Among the landscapes, the Buriti stands out. A tall and elegant palm, considered to be the most beautiful palm tree in existence. Its name means “the one that contains water” because it grows next to the watercourse and the streams.
Everything is taken advantage of: the leaves for covering the houses, and the fruits for cooking. The golden pulp of its fruits is used in the preparation of sweets, jams, and ice cream, and from it is extracted a reddish oil, used against burns, with a relieving effect.
